Gates & Entry Melbourne
Security meets convenience.
Sliding, swing and telescopic gates for Melbourne driveways and entries. Motorised, hardwired, solar-powered or manual, with the intercom, parcel box and lighting built into the same boundary.
Walls, gates, access.
Built as one boundary.
OzWalls supplies and installs entry, side and driveway gates in any style, from traditional lock-and-latch designs to full automation. At Chelsea the gate, parcel box, lighting and intercom were handled as one system with the wall, rather than bolted on afterwards.
Sliding and swinging driveway gates can be motorised, hardwired, solar-powered or manual. At Mornington the gate runs on solar with no mains connection; at Ashburton, low-voltage automation with a Wi-Fi module lets the owners open it from a phone.

Pick the gate for the driveway.
01
Sliding gates
Run horizontally on a track, so they suit tight driveways and work on uneven or sloped ground. At Mornington: an aluminium blade gate made to match the fence, automated on solar.
02
Telescopic gates
Stacking panels do a sliding gate’s job in a shorter run. Chelsea did not have the run-back space for a single leaf, so it has a telescopic gate.
03
Swing gates
Single or double leaf, mechanically simpler than a sliding gate and quieter to run. Generally the cheaper install where the driveway has room for the swing. Camberwell’s double gates open from a phone.
04
Intercoms and parcel boxes
Access goes into the wall: a wireless video intercom at Seaford, a Ring intercom and Milkcan parcel box at Chelsea, a light on every second post at Camberwell. Keypads, fobs and phone access are options too.

Wall and gate.
One job, one finish.
OzWalls is a modular and acoustic wall specialist first. The gate is the part of the boundary that opens, so we build it with the wall: a gate made to match the panels, the motor inside the post at Seaford, the intercom where it belongs.
The same goes for fencing. At Mornington the sliding gate matches an aluminium blade fence. On commercial work, we supplied site entry gates for an Oreana Group construction site at Clyde North.
How the job runs
Site inspection
Levels, access, soil and power are checked on site. Sloping driveways can need specialised motors or track systems, so we look before we price.
Scope and free quote
We agree the gate type, the drive — motorised, hardwired, solar-powered or manual — and the access hardware, and provide a clear quote.
Approvals
If your job needs council approval, we will flag it at the quote and talk you through what applies.
Install and hand over
An efficient install with a clean finish and a practical handover.
Questions we get asked
Can you automate an existing gate?
In many cases, yes. Automation can be retrofitted to an existing timber, steel, aluminium or rural gate, provided it is structurally sound, properly aligned and within the motor’s weight capacity. A warped or poorly hung gate may need reinforcing first. Retrofitting is often cheaper than replacing the gate.
What happens to an automatic gate during a power outage?
Modern systems have a manual release key, and can be fitted with battery backup or run on solar. Battery backup keeps the gate working through short outages; in a longer one, the gate is released and opened by hand.
Are automatic gates worth it for security?
Yes. An automatic gate improves security and access control by cutting down opportunistic access, and adds privacy and street presence. It can work with intercoms, keypads or fobs, smartphone access, CCTV and alarms.

Need a gate that fits the driveway?
Send photos of the driveway, the gate you have now if there is one, and where the power is, and we will come back with a clear quote.
